Sylvester was an active member of the North Plainfield/Plainfield Rotary Club and was involved in the Boy Scouts. Sylvester was Chief of the North Plainfield Fire Department. Prior to his retirement two years ago, Mr. Sylvester lived in North Plainfield for many years before moving to Wall Township two years ago.
